People who are in this room could be heard saying the following:
People in this room can experience a host of emotions: frustration, confusion, conflict, self doubt, despair even. This is the room of very high energy and high emotion. It can be very uncomfortable. When it becomes uncomfortable, some people may slip back to denial and say it's too hard and that someone else should fix it. People generally want to get out of this room as fast as possible because of its high levels of discomfort and confusion. However, the longer a person, department or organisation stays in the room the more sustainable, rewarding and powerful will be the Renewal. So the challenge for people in this room is to say there and live with the uncertainty and ambiguity - not an easy thing to do! This room is the engine room of change. This is where visions, strategies, plans etc being to emerge out of the confusion. Moving to the Renewal Room is conditional on clear plans being eventually developed in the Confusion Room. People and organisations need to be careful they do not settle for quick fixes as they move to Renewal or they will return to Confusion.
